, « ENGLISH TEAMS FOE AUSTRALIA. PEOPOSED REFORM IN THE METHOD OF SELECTION. [PfiESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received March 17, 10 a.m.) London, 16th March. The Secretary of the County Cricket Association, with the concurrence of several of his colleagues, suggests that the Marylebone Cricket Club should select the future English cricket teams for Australia in preference to the present haphazard method of selection. Junior Association. — Petone v. Johnsonville (at Petoue) — Petone: Foote, Falder, Tvnowles, Hnggar, Fleet, Matson (2), Carter, Cairns, Godfrey, llenry ; emergencies, Armstrong, List. / The match Midland second v. Old Boys will be continued on Saturday next, on No. 2, Basin Reserve— not Athletic Park, as before stated. The Midland third team will play Thorndon at the Athletic Park on Saturday.
