Wind — Between north and -west and south-west at all places northward of Thames and Maimkau and southward of Lyttelton and Holritika, and between north-east and north and west at all other places ' \ Baiiomkitr— Fall everywhere, but rising at most places southward of Oainaru and Queenstown after 12 hours Sej.— Heavy ou all western coast, but moderate on eastern coast Tides— High on all western and increasing on east coast south of Napier ; moderate elsewhere Northerly gales, with rain, are to be expected at most places from Thames and Manukan south to Oamaru and Queenstown, and strong westerly winds at all other places SYNOPSIS OK LAST 24 HOUIIS Northward of Thames and Auckland there has been a slight increase of pressure, but it has decreased everywhere else, particularly in the southern districts. Moderate to fresh southerly winds have been prevalent, and rain lias fallen at most places north of Kaikoura and Hokitika E. A. EDWIN
