President Kruger intends to apply the eternal principles of God's word to the affairs of State ; General Joubert is simply stauding at Mr. Kruger's personal request, that by the result they both may be convinced of the will of God ; and Mr. Sckulk Burger merely expresses a desire to be elected ' if the Lord should call him. ' This is vox popidi vox Dei with a vengeanoe.
