TRAGEDIES IN AUCKLAND.
♦ [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, 30th November. A man who gave his name as Morris, of Mount Roskill, went to St. Helier's Bay yesterday and stayed overnight at the hotel. He left at 6 a.m. to go fishing. Afterwards he was seen to go to bathe off the end of the pier. His body was found three hours afterwards in a bathing-suit lying on the beach. He was a single man, of independent income, and was in delicate health. It is believed he was either carried away by the current at the pier or waa seized withvratnp or faintness. At the inquest on Arthur Bach— rthe probationer from Avondale Asylum' who fell .down dead on entering his mother's room yesterday morning — a verdict was returned that deceased committed suicide whilst of unsound mind. A post~mortefii examination revealed the presence of prussio acid, but it is not known how he procured it.
