PUBLIO NOTICE ia hereby given that a Lopal Bill promoted by the Wellington Harbour' Board and having the above short title will be ' introduced into Parliament during tbe present Session. The objects which the Bill is intended to effect are: — To enable the Governor to grant to the Board certain Lands for the extension of the Dock Site now vested in the Board ; to authorise the Corporation of the City of Wellington and the Board to effect exchanges of endowments upon terms to be agreed upon; to enable tbe Board to contribute to the cost of the diversion of railways and streets and to construct certain works, and to vest in the Board certain powers now held by the Corporation for the execution of works ; to enable the Board to construct workshops and fit same with machinery, and to lease or let the same for hire ; to provide for the consent of the Governor-in-Counoil prior to tHe construction of any such works ; to enable the Board to make bylaws regulating the uses of such machinery and the conduct of persons in the workshops ; to empower the Board to raise the sum of J6280,000 to be expended for the purposes authorised by the Act. A copy of this Bill has been deposited at the Resident Magistrate's Courthouse at Wellington, and ia there open to public inspection. Dated this 15tb. day of October, 1897.
