At 11 o'clock last night tn'e Vancourer liner Warrimoo, Captain Hay, dropped anchor in the stream, baring left Sydney at 4.45 pm 'on Monday last. She experienced- N and NW winds and moderate seas, accompanied.. by rain and thick weather, which cause.4 considerable, delay. A full-rigged ship, bound east, was passed 22, miles west of Stephen Island'at 5 pin* yesterday, but her same could not be ascertained. The Warrimoo brought the following passengers for New Zealand :— Misses Tumor, Winter, Mrs Turner and infant, Messrs Tingemer, Turner, Hodgson, Morrison, Hales, Goodman. Palmer, Smith. There are also 87 booked through to other ports. She has on board about 150 tons cargo from Australia for through ports, while a small quantity was landed in Wellington. Her outward cargo-con-sisted of 200 carcases mutton mtd a. small line of general. The steamer resumed her Toyage to Vancouver this afternoon". Murphy, Hilton M'Shay. « ACCIDENT TO THE BOTOKINO. When the Rotokino, which left Timaru at 4.45 pm on Tnegday for Lyttelton, had got as far as Pompey's Pillar she broke her main shaft. She was hove-to, and a clamp was placed on the shaft, which enabled her to gO ahead ut about a knot an hc>nr, but she was unable to go astern. The Rotovu*, which had Mcnred instructions to look out for her, ultimately took her in tow, and as she wa« doing excellent work in the Tery heavy sea running she was ordered to tow the disabled •tenner as far as Camp Bay. The tug then took charge of the Botolcmo and brought her alongside Lyttelton wharf at 9 pm on Wednesday. The cargo of the Rotokino, which is for Sydney, will be transhipped to another steamer, and she will be docked at lijtteltoa for the new shaft tabs fitted. The Aratapu, from K aipara, with a full load of timber, beat in this afternoon When coming out of Wanganui tha M**ro« towed out the schooner Sarah and Mary The scow Whangaroa, timber laden for Sydney, has been unable to get out of Foxton far two or three weeki, owing principally to westerly gales Bad weather kept the NairMbire in the Timaru roadstead for several days, and when she did get inside several defects were found in the inmlation of the meat chambers.
