Wind— Between north-west and west and south at all places ' Baeohktee— Eise everywhere Sea— Heavy on all western coast of North Island, also heavy swell on eastern coast of both islands after 16 hours, but moderate elsewhere Tides— High on all western coast of North Island and on eastern coast of both islands northward of Lyttleton ; moderate elsewhere Strong southerly winds and much colder weather are to be expected in all parts of the country, and frost on the high land of both islands from Taupo southward SYNOPSIS OP LAST 24 HOCRB There was a slight decrease of pressure everywhere south of Na.pier and New Plymouth until about 8 pm, and since then it has continued to increase steadily northward of Napior and New Plymouth. Strong southerly gales have been experienced in most parts of the South Island, and the weather has been generally very cold, and with frost at Bealey R. A. EDWIN
