THE DINGLEY TARIFF FINALITY AT LAST? [press association.] Washington, 20th July.

The House of Representatives has adopted the report of the Joint Committee of Congress upon the Tariff Bill, which proposed in general an increase of 1 cent per lb upon first and seoond-class wools as compared with the rates fixed when the Bill was lately before the Senate. Senator Dingley. dealing with' the new Bill, explained that first-class washed and scoured wools would pay respectively twice and thrice as much as the unwashed article, that third-class wool, prepared for carding and spinning, and containing less than 8 per ; cent. of foreign matter, would also pay thrice as much as unwashed, and carpet wools would be charged 4to 7 cents. The duties on other wools would be as already announced.
