ENTHUSIASTIC N.Z. STUDENTS AT EDINBURGH. MORE PATRIOTIC SENTIMENTS FROM THE PREMIERS.

(Received J,une 16, 10 a.m.) London, 15th June. Oxford University will confer the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws upon Mr. Reid (Premier of New South AVales), Mr. Kingston (Premier of South Australia), and Sir Hugh Nelson (Premier of Queensland). At a meeting in connection with the British Empire Trade League, held in Edinburgh, the Colonial Premiers were present. The Australian and New Zealand students of the Edinburgh University assembled on the platform. The New Zealand section greeted Mr. Seddon with a Maori war-cry. Speaking at the meeting, Lord Balfour of Burleigh, Secretary for Scotland, declared that England and her colonies were one people. Mr. Laurier, Premier of Canada, said'he foresaw the time when the bond between England and the colonies must either be closed up or broken. Sir George Turner, Premier of Victoria, asserted that the colonies would be found united at the one word " Danger !" Mr. G. H. Reid, Premier of New South Wales, is at Rome. He intends to visit Florence, Milan, Lucerne, and Brussels, and is expected to reach London on Friday.
