Our readers are reminded of the concert which is to be held iv the Opera House to-night in aid of the Hawkes Bay Relief Fund. The programme should be an exceedingly popular one. Madame Merz will sing "Dear Bird of Winter" (Adelina Patti's favourite song) and "Kathleen Mavourneen," and the other artists have selected equally popular songs. The Wellington Garrison Band will play selections from the balcony of the Ope»a House prior to the concert. On Wednesday the Town Clerk of Wellington asked the Mayor of Napier whether it was desired that any part of the Wellington fund should be expended in the purchase of goods iri this city for the sufferers by the Hawkes Bay floods. His Worship replied that the Central Committee is in no hurry for money. No cash is being distributed at present, but the committee is dosirous of knowing from time to time the state of the funds which are being raised in the diswicts outside Napier.
