THE VOLUNTEERS. THE DISTRICT MEDAL.
The Wellington city volunteers fired on Saturday for the district medal. Lieut.-Col. Newall and Sergt.-Major Finn represented the Government. The scores made in the other parts of tho Wellington Volunteer District have yet to be received. The conditions were — No sighters ; 10 shots, standing position, 2003'ds; 10 shots, kneeling position, 300 yd s; 10 shots, prone position, 500 yds.
