FOOTBALL.
♦ This season the Wellington College teams are to play all their matches on their own ground. A great number of new drains have been laid in the ground this term, and it ought to be firm .and dry even after a heavy rainfall. The College ranks tin; season will be much weakened by the absence of two of its best players, L. M'Kenzie and E. Payton, who have left the institution. The seven a-side tournament in aid of the Hawkes Bay Relief Fund at the Athletic Park to-morrow should attract a large attendance. A meeting of the Boys' Rugby Union was held last evening at the Boys' Institute, delegates from four clubs being present. A champion shield is to be obtained, which the winning team tfill hold for twelve months ; they will also be presented with a football. The meeting was adjourned till next Tuesday, when full arrangements will be mado. for the season's matches.
