Two little girls named Hidgecock have died at Hillston through drinking a solution of rabbit-poison. The underwriters have abandoned the barque Adderley, which went ashore near Newcastle in the recent storm, and sold her as she lies embedded in the sand. The body of Macpherson, who was drowned in a sewer, has also been found floating in the harbour. At the inquest the evidence showed that the men were several times warned of the danger, but' delayed making their escape from the sewer. Adelaide, 28th April. The Bootmakers' Union has decided to open a co-operative factory to find work for the strikers. They have received large offers of support. >
