THE PLIMMERTON TRAGEDY.

MORE ABOUT BRAY- BROOKE'S HISTORY. [by teijegkaph— own cohkespondent.] Gisbokne, This Day. Some years ago a man named J. R. Brookes, otherwise known as Bray-Brooke, had a carting business in Gisborne, in which he was making money. Six years ago he sold out, and after a trip to Sydney settled ii^ Auckland, where he was running a pie-shop ; afterwards he went to Napier and occupied the Exchange Hotel. Thence he drifted further south to Wellington, where his wife and the two children whom he took away from Gisborne left him. They were a few months ago in Auckland. There can be little doubt that BrayBrooke is the man whose body has been found at Plimmerton.
