THE PENNANT MATCHES. The Wordsworth-street green was alive with bowlers on Saturday afternoon, when the Wellington Club simultaneously put teams into the field against Thorndon and Newtown to contest the Pennant. The high wind interfered with the play to some extent, frequently taking complete charge of the bowls. The home team easily beat Thorndon, but Npwtown won an interesting game by one point.
