THE COLONIES AND PENNY POSTAGE.
1 [PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Bbisbane, 2nd January. With reference to the cabled interview with Mr. Henniker Heaton, M.P. for Canterbury, it has transpired that during his visit here he sounded the Government as to whether they would have any objection to the Imperial Government sending mails by penny post by all sea routes from England to Australia. The Government assured Mr. Heaton that it would not make any objection.
