Duffy, Postmaster - General, visits New Zealand next month, and while there will institute enquiries into the old age pension scheme of the Government. Sydney, Ist January. A cycldnic storm in the Narrabri district i killed birds in large numbers, uprooted trees and unroofed many houses. Four inches of , rain fell. : The Coroner's report for the year shows 39 cases of suicide, seven of which were women. The insolvency statistics for the same period show :— Liabilities, £627,000 ; assets, ; £409,000.
