PUBLIC ABATTOIR LOAN. r|iHE Dunedin City Council invites tenders i for the purchase of Debentures to the extent of .£SOOO, being the first portion of the second loan authorised for the erection of the Public Abattoir amounting to -27000 (the first loan of -26000 having already been floated), The Debentures will bear interest at the rate of £4 per i>loo per annum, payable halfyearly. The currency will be for 20 years from Ist February, 1897. The security for the loan (subject to the aforesaid first loan of JE6000) are the tolls, rents, and stallages of the Abattoir as defined by " The Abattoirs and Slaughterhouses Act. 1894," in addition to the general liability of the Corporation (vide Section 218 of " The Municipal Corporations Apt, 1886.") Nojtender below par, or for less than -3100, will be considered. Allotment will be made to the highest tenderers and downwards until the amount of the loan issue is absorbed. A deposit of £5 per .8100 tendered for must accompany each tender, which will be returned to tho unsuccessful tenderers. Tho balance -will be required to be paid on the issue of Debentures.
