y Further returns of Local Option Polls show that throughout the country, with the one eiception of Clutha, there have been decisions in favour of the continuance of the present number of licenses. At Cbristchurch the votas recorded were : — Continuance, 8255 ; reductidn, 5952 ; no license, 5261. The total number of voters was 14,534. The Returning Officer for Bruce announces that at his poll nothing was carried, and the licenses remain as at present. The voting was :— Continuance, 1411; reduction, 1428; no licepce, 1541; number of voters, 3007. Our Carterton correspondent telegraphs that the returns in the Wairarapa electorate as far as they have been made up are : — For continuance, 744 ; for reduction, 744 ; for no-license, 820 ; informal, 90. The figures yet to come in will not affect the result.
