THE VOLUNTEERS.
The usual weekly competition of the iVellington City Rifles for class trophies iras hold yesterday, seven shots each being fired at 300 and 600 yds. In the A Class the prize-takers were — Pvt. Turner, 59; Pvt. Hawthorne, 54 ; and Pvt. Guise, 50. In B Class, Pvt. Watson, with 54, headed, the list, and Pvt. Claridge, 46. and Pvt. Jenkins, 46, carried off the ammunition prizes. The company's aggregates now stand r« follows : —A Class— Guise, 422 ; RQWell, 417 ; Davis, 411; Hawthorne, 410; Jacksou, 394; E. Halpin, 352; Willason, 372; B'anckenburg, 357 ; B. Halpin, 344 ; Luke, 34 A ; Maudsley, 338. B Class— Watson, 336; Marshall, 329; Claridge, 808 ; Wickens, 307 ; Bankin, 293 ; Faber, 267 ; Jenkins, 260. The annual match, City Rifles v. Guards, has been arranged to take place on. Saturday, 12th inst.
