[BY TELBOBAPH— PBEBB ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, 27th November. The report of the Union Steamship Co.'s Mutual Benefit Society states that the receipts for the year, including the company's contribution of £315 12s 3d, were £2690 18*' 3d, and the expenditure £2237 10s lid, leaving a surplus of £453 7s 4d. This brings the total funds up to £4342 10s lOd. Sick pay to 181 members amounted to £872, general claims, £30, medical attendance, £652 ; medicines, £250 , surrender values, £236 to 91 members ,. and gratuities, £67. The membership is 860. The five years during which the company agreed to -subsidise the contributions has expired. From this source, including the initial donation, £2599 has been derived. The directors have deferred decision as to the future contributions till the position has been investigated* as provided by the rules.
