OBITUARY.
« Intsa association.] .Lostdon, 19th November. Mrs. Scott Siddons, the well-known actress, is dead. [Mrs. Scott Siddons was a descendant of the famous Mrs. Siddonn, who flourished in the latter part of the 18th and the beginning of the present century, and whose features have been recorded by the brush of Sir Joshua Reynold*. Mrs. Scott Siddons was herself an actress of marked ability, equally familiar with the Tragic and the Comic Muse, and has played "st£<-" parts in England and America with leading companies, hut perhaps she was better known and appreciated in her monologue entertainments, which her knowledge of the stage, elocutionary attainments, and infinite variety made peculiarly attractive.] "... .-.. Garvan, who was Minister 'of Justice in the Jennings Government from 1886 to 1887, and Colonial Treasurer in that of Sir George Dibbs from January to March, 1889.
