TO-DAY'S PARLIAMENT. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Mr. Duthie gave notice to ask that copies of all cablegrams sent to the Agent-General in connection with the Bank of New Zealand be laid on the table of the House. The Speaker brought up a recommendation made by the House Committee to the effect that the rule excluding visitors from the lobbies and the precincts of the House on sitting days be strictly adhered to. This intimation was received by many members with exclamations of dissent, and the Premier moved that the privilege hitherto granted to members of introducing their friends should be adhered to. Captain Russell said the privilege was being unduly abused, and that was the reason of the House Committee's action. After further discuslion the Premier's motion was carried on the voices. An Imprest Supply Bill for £229,700 was put through all stages. (Left sitting).
President Kruger, at the Pete Nationale given recently by the members of the French colony in Pretoria, said that it was a pleasant sight for him to see that the French were increasing In the Republic. He was not blind, and he saw tho advantages, springing from folk of other nations settling there, no matter of what nationality, to benefit the country. It showed that the Great Powers had an interest in tho Republic. The Transvaal had much sympathy with France, because of the French blood which flowed in many burghers' veins', and because France was a Republic.
