MINING NEWS.
A large area of auriferous land on the border of Lake Wakatipu has been taken over by a syndicate from the owner, Mr. D. A. Cameron. It is the same land which was attempted to be floated into a company some nino years ago, and comprises about 620 acres (of which about 250 are said to be auriferous).
One of the most, remarkable features of tho Campania, one of the, Atlantic greyhounds, }s 'the height of viz., 120f(;,'whilenneir d]ameter-#2vrfc.
