THE CHURCH AND THE WORKERS.
TO THE EDITOB. Sib—" J.W.H." • is altogether wrong in supposing that in calling for tenders for " labour only " in the erection of the Wesleyan Churoh at Kilbirnie an attempt is being made to get work done at lower than current rates. For this I take to be his meaning, though his letter is very ambiguous. Such a thought was never in the mind of the trustees when it was decided to call for tenders. Tenders are called for labour only, because all the materials have been given (most of the timber is now on the , ground), and nothing more is required to complete the erection. " J.W.H." Btates he lias felt it his duty to write as he has done. He should feel it is duty to ascertain facts before he writes, and not jump at, and then hastily publish, conclusions that are both erroneous and misleading. He is guilty of an "enormous offence," not the church trustees. I am, &c, Josiah Wabd, Trinity Wesleyan Church.
