Messrs. George Thomas & Co. report wholesale produce prices as follows: — The continued wet weather interferes with the delivery of potatoes, and prices still remain at the advanced rates noted last week. There is a tendency to advance the value of oats, and they are fully Id per bushel higher than last quotations. Very little is doing in seed potatoes, as in many cases growers of last season saved a portion of the yield for sowing purposes this Season. We quote :— Roller flour, £9 10s per ton for 2001b sacks ; whole fowl wheat, 3s 7d to 3s 8d per' bushel ; bran, £3 per ton ; pollard, £5 per ton; New Zealand majze, 3s 6d; best oaten sheaf chaff, £3 10s to £3 16s per ton; baled straw, £2 16s; oatmeal. £10 to £10 15s per ton; oats, 2s ' 2d • dun oats, 2s sd ; feed barley, 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; Cape barley, 3s ; pearl barley, 14s ; blue peas, 4s 3d ; partridge do, 3s 8d ; split peas, 13s ; rye 'corn, 3s 9d ; Derwent potatoes, £3 5s to £3 10s per ton ; onions, £5 to £6 10s per ton ; prime factory cheese, 4Jd per lb ; hams and bacon, 6±d per Ib ; bacon, 6d ; hams, scarce, 7id. Butter is now becoming scarcer; good dairy is worth 8d to 9d; separator, 10£ dto lid per lb ; fungus, 3d per lb ; fresh eggs, rather scarce at Is 4d to Is 5d per doz ; swede turnips, £1 10s per ton ; carrots, £1 10s to £1 15s per ton. Seed potatoes: Kidneys, £3 10s; Beauty of Hebron, £4; Early Rose, £4; and Breeze's Prolifics, £4. Rape send, £10 per ton.
