Ov, ing to the popularity of the programme presented, Mr. Cooper has engaged the Columbia Rink, where he will open next Wednesday, uth August,' at popular prices.

Several of the columns usually containing news or advertisements appear a total blank, and the news generally is rather meagre. In apologising to its readers for the "attenuated appearance which the paper presents," tho Star informs them that tho compositors have struck work, owing to their demand for an increased wage of 5s per week not having been acceded to. The men are said to have been under the impression that other hands were to have been token on from AVellington over their heads, and as they could not get a satisfactory assurance to the contrary, they "removed their sticks.'
