+ EOUSE OP KEPRESENTATIVES. Mr. Lewis gave notice to ask the Government if it will" amend'the Shops and Shop Assistants Act by doing away with all exemptions and making the half-holiday universal. Mr. E. M. Smith gave notice to ask when the Government will take steps to acquire the Wellington-Manawatu Railway Line. Mr. Crowther said lie intended to ask if it was true that the head of the Labour Department had interfered with the "Wellington Benevolent Institution in its efforts to find work for the unemployed.
