AUCKLAND'S DEMANDS FROM PARLIAMENT.

The Northern Eailwaj r League, at a meeting with the Auckland members of Parliament, passed a resolution strongly urging upon the Government the necessity of forming the 31 miles of dray road that are yet incomplete between Ohura and the end of the Stratford-road ; also asking that the Te Kuiti and Awakino roads be completed. The Chamber of Commerce also met the members, and passed motions (1) urging tnem to use every possible means of getting Auckland connected by rail with Taranaki ; '(2) advocating joint action to ensure expenditure on the construction and maiur tenance of the main roads north of AuckJand ; (3) iQ^jing on the necessity for the extension ofthd railway from Pareroatothe Waihi goldfield.
