The Annual Movable Committee of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows has passed resolutions in favour of « the establishment of a State system of relief for the aged and infirm outside of the Poor Laws. (Received June 2, 11 a.m.) London, Ist June. Mr. Gladstone praises the paternal attitude of the Pope in enquiring into the validity of certain English orders.
