Muob exoitement was oanaed towards the end of 1888 in Court and politio&l oirolea by the publication ie tbe Deutsche Rundsohau of a portion of a diary stated to have boen compiled by the late Emperor Frederick, and this led to the confiscation of tbe paper and the arrest of Dr. Geffoken, who it was alleged supplied the information. The proceedings against the Professor were subsequently abandoned. '
