ARRIVAL OF MR DAVITT.
o Tho Mawliera, with Mr. Michael Davitt on board, arrived at 12 45 p.m. to-day. There was a large crowd around tho wharf. Mr. Davitt was received by the membors of tho Reception Committee, the Hon. E. lllake, M P., the Hon. W M'Cullough, M.L.C., the Hon. Sir Patrick Buckloy, Archbishop Ecdwood, tho Roy. Dr. Wattors, the Very Hey. Fathers Devoy and Dawßon, and sevoral other clergymen, Dr. C'ahill, tho Hon. Dr. Grace, M.L.C., the offioers of the local branch of the Irish National League, and a large number of ropresoi.titives of the various Labour organisations. Mr. Davitt was driven with the Hon. Mr. Blake, Sir Patrick Buckley, and the Hon. Dr. Grace, in a carriago and four supplied by Mr. Lano, to the Occidental Hotel. Ho drove off amidst great enthusiasm. This evening's lecture is entitled " Parliamentary Portraits." It waa immensely popular in Australia, where its singularly graphic oliaracter, the information it conveyed, and the jndicial estimate given of the loading figures in English public life, wero extensively quoted and warmly commented on.
