♦ (Our Own Correspondent.) Masterton. This Day. A distinct shock of earthquake was felt in Masterton shortly aftor daybreak this morning. The District officers of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows visited the Maaterton Lodge la<=l Gvonintr. Tho stablos and outbuildings on the farm of Mr. Johu Hosaey, at the Upper Plains, wore destroyed by fire this morning. Most of tho contents wore saved. The Masterton Benevolent Society has extended relief in 16 casual oases last month, as against 10 iv the previous month. Mr. C. A. Pownall has retired from the oontest for the Mayoralty of Masterton.
