Palmerston North, This Day. ' The Mayor has reoeived communication : from the Government enquiring if the Borough Council had any objection to the " name of tho town being changed to i Manawatn. The Council will consider the . matter at its next meeting. c William Delahunty, charged with attempted suicide, was brought np at the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon, and [ remanded to Wellington for medical examination. " Mr. R. Bryant, winner of the Eiridsford colt in the St. Albans lottery, proceeded to Wellington by last evening's train en route to Melbourne, for the purpose of bringing \ tho colt back with him. Great preparations are being made by the " Good Templars for the convention whioh _ openß next Tuesday.
