Sib— The spending of ,£12,000 op J814.000 has caused some stir in onp little borough, and there seems to be a deoided feeling that a ohango 1 in the personnel, of the Council is neoeseary for the welfare of the borough, and the ratepayers in general. I hare myself always felt some doubt as to the present Connoil being capable of spending this large sum of money in a jndiotous manner. I havo token particular notice sine* ™ drainage scheme started (not oountinir the opening day) to see how they would look after the interests of the ratepayer.. And I must oonfess that the laok of interest displayed, and the total ignoranoe shown u2S ri I o ?S a t+' im PP l * about any little detail in nonneotaon with the scheme at onoo oonTinoos that there should be a change. Next month there are three ConnpiUprs to retire. Let the ratepayers fill ud tbeir ohaira with men who will not want to
