A NOVEL TEA MEETING.

♦ A somewhat novel tea meeting, prompted by the Wesleyan P.8.A., was held at Congleton recently About eighty persona sat down to s knife and fork tea provided by males alone. The cutting up of the provisions, and the waiting and teamaking, were all done by males, and fines were inflicted upon ladies whe passed eatables to one another, After tea a hat- trimming competition for males was held, seven males competing. Mrs. Keeling, milliner, was the judge, and awarded the prize to Mr. A. Turnock. Nearlj £5 was realised.
