Evison, who was arrested in tho some months ago, has withdrawn his confession to the Auckland police authorities, and says there is no truth in it. AtTCKUND, THI3 DAT. Evison came before the Magistrate's Court to-day, on tho charge of having murdered a certain female, named Jennie , at Nottingham, in Juno, 1832. Be bus been remanded from time to time s : nce Ma.v last. To-day be made a siatemont affirming that hia confession at Hamilton was nntrue. The police reported that their communication from Nottingham paid the result of the enquiries there would be forwarded by tho next mail. Aooused was again remanded for eight days. An English paper to hand mentions in reference to Eviaon'a caao that the body of a young woman was founds in the river in June, 1882, which appeared to give Bomo probability to Eviaon's story.
