' Lord Salisbury, Premier and Minister for Foreign Affaira. Sir Michael Hicks-Beach, Chancellor of the Exchequer. 7he Duke of Devonshire, Lord President of the Connoil. Mr. Goschen, First Lord of the Admiralty. Mr. Gladstone, interviewed concerning the political situation, said he did not intend to renew his political work, or to assist in the general election. , Jnne 26. Although Lord Salisbury waß willing to surrender the Foreign office to tbe Duke of Devonshire, the litter preferred to be President of the Council, with the headship of ihe Consultative Council on Imperial Defence entrusted by the Executive with the carrying oat of Army reforms. Mr. Justin M'Carthy intends to appeal to the Irish at Homo and abroad for eleotion funds. The Times says that Mr. Chamberlain's desire to draw closer the tws between Kngland and the' colonies influenced his choice of the portfolio of :-ecretury of State for the Colonies. The dissolution is expeoted to take place in the se ond week of Jnly. It is reported that the Liberals are unprovided with candidates for 170 Beats.
