HER MAJESIY'S BIRTHDAY.

TO THB EDITOR. Sir— All loyal aubjeots of Her Majesty, also all those who jealously desire to guard against insidious tampering withobser\ances, sentimental or otherwiae, which tend to perpetuate the union of the ooloniea with the old Mother Land, will have read of the Tefenoe Minister's aotion as regards tne Birthday parade of volunteers with regret and di'egwt. Let us hope the men themselves, by voluntary attendance in force on the occasion, will show their disapproval thereof, as well as their loyalty to the embodiment of the Empire. The satire would be prodigious if Mr. Seddon's name were among the " Birthday " honoured. I am, &c, Ex-VOLTJNTBBB.
