{Our Own Correspondent.) | PER 8.8. MANAPOURt AT THE BLUFF .] Melbourne, 9th May. A sad case of distress has been revealed at Gonlbourn. A woman named Webb, whose husband is supposed to be at Coolgardie, gave birth to a child, which died. Tho woman was alone at the time, being too poor to pay either for a nurse or for a doctor. She had borrowed the bed, which was poorly supplied with clothes, while Bix other ohildren slept on the floor. 1 hree doctors were sent for but did not come. The woman also applied to the local City Mission for relief, but was refused, as she had only been in Goulboarn for four months.
