♦ The following games hare been arranged for Ihe 24th instant (Queen's BirthdayJ : Poneke v. Palmerston, at Palmeraton North ; Melroae v. Red Star, at Masterton ; Wellington v. Oarterton, at Carterton ; Setwyn v. Fealherston, at Featherston ; Athletio first and second v. Grcvtown first and second, at Newtown Park. Tho Poneke and Melrose Clubs are endeavouring to arrange matches for their second fifteens. At a meeting of tho Empire Club held laßt evpning at the Whito Swan Hotel, the following; ofEoers were eleoted for the second fifteen ! — Captain, Mr H. Manning j ViceCaptain, Mr. A. G. Vause ; Matoh Committee, Messrs. Collier, M'Kinnon, Flynn, M'Carrison, and tbe captain. Mr. J. M'Annally was placed on the Senior Matoh Committee in the place of Mr. G. Hart, who has resigned Cookroft, who was at one time the best forward in Wellington, is now living in Brisbane. »lr. F L. Seagar will represent the Bush Union on the New Zealand Rugby Union. The question of roviving the annnal match with Canterbury will be disenssed at the meeting of the Kugby Union this evening. The City Rifles Club has accepted a challenge from the Navajs to play a match on tho Queen's Birthday, if arrangements for tho Park can be made. Both corps have strong teams. Tradesmen v. Drapers (at Ifowtown Park, to-morrow). Tradesmen from— Slinn, Ross, Johnson, Bornosconi, Donald, Whitwortb, Read, Butt ir, Warner, Whalen, Pike, Killman, Hnmplirics, Turner, Burton, Caulton, Harris, Laueuton, Walsh.
