I PRESS AH3OOIATION. ■ London, 7th May A public meeting in London, largely attended, carried resolutions calling upon the Government to interfere in the Armenian question. Mr. Gladstone, in a vigorous letter, states that Turkey is apparently resolved to proouro her own ruin. Ho hoped that England, alone or jointly with the Groat Powers, would use force if necessary to prevent a repetition of the deeds of shame. (Received May 9, 10.10 a m.) London, Bth May. The Times says that practical relief in connection with the atrocities in Armenia, iB difficult. The article suggests that the Governor should bo a njan approved by the Great Powers, and allowed a free hand in administration, but at the same time he should be watched by Resident Commissioners appointed by the Powers.
