THE SYDNEY POISONING CASE.
THE AGITATION INCREASING. I UNITED FRESB ASSOCIATION. I (Received April 23. 10 45 a.m.) Sydney. This Day. The agitation for a re-hearing of the oharge against Dean, convicted of wifepoisoning, is spreading, and numerous meetings are being held in the city and in oountry centres. The Attorney-General has informed the Investigation Committee that one of the smartest detectives in the force had been told off on behalf of the Government to enquire into tbe case. Ho admits that the matter has been taken out of the hands of the polioe, but denies that he has resigned his responsibility in the case to an irresponsible body of citizens such as the committee is.
