/Our Cut Correspondent. J Palmkeston North, This Dat. The Longburn Freezing Company commenced freezing operations yesterday. The first consignment will be shipped by the Rangitira. Settlers at Fitzherbert and Linton have lost largely in sheep during the past winter. Several report their losses to oxoeed 200. It is supposed that the sheep hare wandered into the bush.

At a special meeting of the Licensing Committee to consider the question of conditional licenses in view of the application of the Caledonian Society, it was decided to adbere to the previous dooision to refnse all such licenses.
