Fashionable Wedding at St. Paul's.
St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral was crowded this afternoon, when Mr. Thomas Walter, fourth snrviving son of the late Mr. John Walter, of Bearwood, Berkshire, England, who was chief proprietor of the London Times, was married to Miss Ellen Mary (Nellie) Gore eldest daughter of Mr. R.. B. Gore, of the Colonial Museum, the Rev T. H. Sprott performing tho ceremony. The bride is very >opular in social oiroles, and a number of her young lady friends gave proof of their regard by deoorating the church with whito flowers and greenery, tho work being done in the most artiatio manner. An aroh of whito flowers waa ereotcd over the spot occupied by the contracting parties, and the aisles were carpeted with red felt. Out of compliment to the bride the service was fully ohoral, tho musical arrangements being in the hands of Mr. Robert Parker, organist of the church. The bride, who looked very handsome, and who was given away by her father, w,wo a gown of white duohesse satin trimmed' with pearl embroidery and flounces of Limerick lace edged with orange blossoms, and a long full court train of rich brocade ornamented with groups of long white ostrich feathers tied with satin ribbon, the embroidered veil and orange blossoms boing held in position by a beautiful pearl half-moon and swallow pin, presented by hor brother, Mr. H. M. Gore. She also carried a lovely shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Bix in number, viz. :— The Misses Gore (sisters of tho bride), Miss Mabel Burke, of ivapier (niece of bride), Miss Madge Bell (daughter of Mr. H. D. Bell, M.H.K.), and Miss Ina Hector (daughter of Sir James Hector). Tho two principal bridesmaids wore pa'.e greon crepe, with bodices of coral pink silk veiled with pale yellow lace, and yellow lace hats with pink roses ; the four younger ones being in pretty white muslin frocks with laoe and insertion, and large white lace piolure hats. All the bridesmaids oirried bouquets, and wore gold brooohes set with pearl 9wallows, gifts from the bridegroom. Mr. H. M. Gore, of tho Hansard staff, brother of the bride, discharged tho duties of beat man. The mother of the brido was dreßsed in brown corded silk trimmed with turquoise blue,' and a brown tulle bonnet with bronze ornaments and blue flowers, and carried a large bouquet ; Mrs. A. Gore, of Napior, wore a pretty pink and white oostnme. The bride's travelling oostume consisted of a pale tabao brown covert coating, waistcoat of white pique, and large white hat with brown and white shaded ostrich feathera. A wedding march was played by Mr. Parker as the happy couple left the church. A reception was afterwards held at Mr. and Mrs. .Gore's rosidence on Aurora-terrace, a large number of guot>ts being present, including Sir James and Lady Hector, Judgo and Mrs. Richmond, Misa Jervois, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Bell, Dr. and Mra. Fell, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jackson, Mr. a.,d Mrs. Parfitt, tho M aseß Izard, the Misses Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Werry, Mrs. Walter Johnston and the Misses Johnston, Sir Walter and. Miss Buller, and Miss' Cooper, &o. The bride received a great many presents, including a very valuable diamond and pearl neoklaae from the bridr. groom. The honeymoon is to be spent in the North. The oake, a huge four-docker, was from Mr. J. Varcoo's establishment on Lambton-quay.
