THE MAORI KING MOVEMENT.

• Wo have just received a copy of the first numbor of tho Native Land Court Gazette, published on 20th November, at Cambridgo, Waikato, under the authority of " King Tawhiao To Aha o to rangi Potatau Te Wherowhoro, King of tho Independent Maori Kingdom of Aotearoaand Te Waipoumanui." It is founded somewhat on tho linos of the Govornmont Kahitl Maori, and is well printed, tho typo having been set up entirely by young natives Tho first paragraph 13 a notification signed by W. T. Taingrtkawa to Waharoa, Promfor Of tho Maori Kingdom, stating that by Order-in-Counoil. dated 27th Augnst, 1893, and published 25th May, 189-i, a separate Maori Native Land Court haa been constituted and placed under the administration of tho Minister for Crown and Native Lands. The second fixes a sitting of the Court at Ohinomuri for 20th December, 1894, notifying that a block called Pakehauge will then bo dealt with by tho Judges who have been appointed ; that after careful hearing ii Crown grant will issue to tho rightful owners nndor tho authority of the native kingdom, and such grant will for ever afterwards be proteoted andkopt inviolate. This is Bigned " T. K. Mauneapabotu Harawira, Rogiatrar Native Land Court." The third fixes a sitting of the Maori Court at Te Hoe o Tainui for 26th February, 1895, to deal with an application for tho rehearing of the Waitakaruru block caso. The fourth paragraph fixes a Subdivision Court at 'the same place and dato to determine tho hapu boundaries of the Tauhei blook. Then follow a number of other notices issued under the Maori Land Court Act of 1881, dealing with several questions, in which it is stated th_t dissatisfaction haa baen creatod throng- the action of the Hon. M. H. Te Pokaitawa, Minister for the Nafivo Land Court, in adjourning certain cases ; that tho lion. A. P. Rongowhitiao, Minister Sor Maori and Crown Lands, had postponed he hearing on account of tho death of the lato King, and appointing Glh February aa tho final dato of hearing. Three notices on the fourth page set forth directions as to applying for teßtatnontary orders for real and personal estate tho property of deceased owners, and makes tho following appointments to portfolios :—: — M. H. T. Pokaitawa, Minister of the Maori Land Court ; tho Hon. A. P Rongowhitiao, Minister for Crown and Tribal Lands. , Tho oonclndiog paragraph states as follows : — By virtue of tbo honour of a eeat in His Majosty's Executivo Council and under authority of the same, tbo poople- aro hereby informed that To Ua Karanama ftlanngapaliatu Harawira has beon appointed Registrar of tho Native Land Court nndor tho separato and independent Maori Kingdom of New Zoaland. (Signed) W. T. Tainoakawa Tk Wahaboa, Premjor of the Kingdom. One sentenco in tho Gazotto worthy of note declares that all. Crown grants issued under King Tawhiao's authority will be uphold and Sept sacred and inviolate for over and over. Tho imprint seta forth that tho Gazotto is ',' published under the authority of tho Maori Kingdom of Aotooroa at Maungakawa, 25th November, 1894."
