[united press association.! Auckland, 30th November. Extensive preparations are being made at Botorua for the opening of the Kotorna. railway line by the Premier. At a public meeting at Ohinemutn an influential committee was formed to arrange for a public demonstration on the occasion. A lar^e gathering of natives from the Arawa, Fgaiterangi, and other tribes, is oxpeoted to be present. It is stated that some 1500 Maoris will assemble from all parts of the district. The nativo demon* strations will form a considerable feature of the affair. The Maoris will dance a powhiri or welcome on arrival of the train at the Botorua terminus. This will be followed by a big feast in Maori style, after which several hundred natives will probably take part in hakas and other Maori dances. In the evening a banquet will be given to the Premier and other visitors. 'Ihe Premier, as Native Minister, will be askod to remain at Botorua for a day in order to give the natives an opportunity of bringing some important native questions before him.
