FUNERAL OF THE LATE HON. ROBERT HART.
♦ The large number of people who followed the mortal remains of the lato Hon. Kobert Hart, M.L.C., to their last resting-place this morning, was an evidence of the general respect in which he had been held. Before tho funeral procession was formod, a short service was conducted in the deceased's late residence, in Hobsonstreot, by the Rev. C. S. Ogg, of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the relatives and most intimate friends only being prosent. The cortege moved off shortly after 10 o'clock, and proceeded to the cemetery in Sydney-street by way of Pipitea and Moles-worth-streets. Messrs. li. G. Park, of Blenheim, and R. W. Hart, of Christchuroh (nephews of the deceased), and li. D. D. M'Lean of Napior (nephew of Mi s. Hart), woro the chief mournors, and tho Chief Justice, Sir P. A. Buckloy (Attorney-General), tho Hons. H. J; Millor (Speaker of tho Legislative Council), Sir G. Maurice O'Korke (Speaker of the House of Ropresontatives), Sir Robert Stout, M H.R , and Mr. C. J. Pharazyn acted as pall-bearers. Tho coffin, which was covorod with beautiful wreaths, including ouo from tho firm of Buckley, Stafford, and Treadwoll, and anothor from tho staff of that office, was made of panelled totara, highly polished, and bore a silver plato insoribed as follows : — " Robert Hart. Diod ICth Septembor, 1891. Aged 80 years." Tho deceased wna buried bcsido his lalo mother and sister, tho Bey. C. S. Ogg officiating at the gravo. Ainougbt those who attended the funeral wore the Premior and Colonial Trensuror, the Hons. Sir G. Whitinoro, Dr. Grace, G. M'Loan, J. B. A. Acland, J. A. Bonar, S. E. Shrimski, W. Swanson, W, M. Bolt, M. Holmos, J. E. Jenkinson, VV. Jennings, J. Kerr, W. Montgomery, J. MacGregor, W. M'Cullongh, It. Oliver, R. Pharazyn, E. Richardson, W. D. Stewart, H. K. Taiaroa, J W. Barnicoat, E. J. 0. Stevens, and H. Feldwick, M.L.C.'s ; tho Hon. W. W. Johnston ; Dr. Newman and Mr. T. Duncan, M.H.R.'s, the Mayor of Wellington (Mr. A. Do B. Brandon), the Registrar oE tho Supreme Court (Mr. D. G. A. Cooper), Messrs. E. Pearco (Consul for Norway and Sweden), and W. T. L. Travers (Acting French ' Consul), and the principals in tho firm of Messrs. Buckley, Stafford and Treadwell, together with tho offico staff, and sevoral oflicors of Parliament.
