Evining Post Office, Monday Afternoon A. G. Taink akd Co. report on their usual weekly horse sale on Saturday :— There was a Tery luree attendance at our yards, but a Tery small entry of horses, and sales difficult to effect, on account of the class of horses not being good. Buyers were present for good express and light harness horses, but none suitable came forward. Draughts were jbzj poorly represented, and any good Borts coming forward from now will meet with demand. A feature of the business on Saturday was the presence of two good draught Clydesdalo stallions from the Taieri. We quote good draughts, young, sound, and heavy, £20 to £24 ; medium, £14 to £16; light harness horses of good class, £12 to £16; express horses, £12 to £15; hacks, £8 to £14, according to age and style. We offered some vehicles of all descriptions, which found sale at fair prices. Townsend aicd Pacl s weekly report of tho horse market is as follows :— At our regular sale on Saturday we had a good attendance, but tho class of stock entered wns not of that description to induce buyers to operate. We sold good upstanding express horses at up to £13 ss, and light harness sorts and hacks at £4 to £8. Heavy draughts were not in the yards. There is still aa enquiry for these, «s also medium stamps for spring dray and express work. We are expecting a consignment of these from South, which we shall sell next Saturday. The two grand Clydesdales laird of Kilbride and Earl of Fyfe were exhibited, but purchasers of this class of stock prefer dealing privately. They are in our hands for disposal, and we expect to place one or both of them this week.
