RELIGIOUS RIOT IN INDIA.
* [special.] (EACeived September 15, 10.35 a.m.) Calcutta, 14th September. Mahometans who were praying in a mosque at Poonah objeoted to the din created by the music from a Hindoo procession. The Hindoos, however, persisted, and a fierce fight took placo, in which 4000 men took part. The result was that the mosque was demolished.
